Standstill

September 12, 2008 at 11:21 am (My Interesting Life, Randomities, The Blog, The College Life)

I feel like I’m immobile.

I got an offer to have a subdomain (wowee) so I switched to WP since it was the only catch in the sweet deal I made. And hey, it’s great. Kaya I’m gonna launch my new blog there and leave and possible delete my old blog (this one).

But now, wala pa yung subdomain and the stuff needed for my site. So what am I gonna do? I can’t really go around promoting this site since I won’t be using it too much, I don’t wanna go around promoting my WP blog since it’s still rather ugly.

Sigh.

I have so many things to write about pa naman.

Let me start.

cheerdance

I can’t believe our school won the NCAA Cheerdance competition. And I’m proud to say that I was there! (maybe I’ll take a pic of my ticket and post it here)

Actually, I was late to the event. When I got there, tapos na ang performance ng JRU. :’( They were the 4th to perform eh.

Anyway, I met up with my BF at the big dome (don’t ask how I got there), and he said “ang ganda ng performance ng JRU”. Well, he never says things like that unless it’s absolutely positively true, so I started to have some good vibes (what am I, psychic?) about how we’ll place in the competition. This was compounded by my former classmate Rachel’s group message, she said ang astig yung cheer dance ng JRU. And this person loves to dance and stuff.

I only got to see snippets of JRU’s performance during the recaps. Fine, maganda siya! Their verticals were off the wall, I can’t believe the school’s administration allowed them to pull off such stunts. I was hoping for a 3rd or 2nd place finish.

2nd runner up: College of St. Benilde (luto lang daw to sabi ni Rachel)
1st runner up: Mapua Institute of Technology

**ok. I got pretty depressed at this point already. I thought “wala na toh”, that San Beda or Letran will win. I just knew Perpetual will not win once again. They made so many baaad mistakes.**

Champion: Jose Rizal University

Grabe it was chaos in our side. EVERYONE stood up and cheered and started jumping up and down. It was amazing! I wanted to cry. If you watched the TV broadcast, there were some performers crying.

Simply wow.

82 points

I heard from my basketball-crazy classmate that one of our varsity players scored 82 points in one game. Since I was distracted at that time, I shrugged it off until last night, when I got bored and decided to look for snippets of that news.

One of MANY sources is here.

Even though our high school team was against the awful Malayan team, I was still amazed. And even though it IS something, imho, a lot of people were bashing him. Some of them were arguing intelligently, but others were being plain boorish like in here. Gosh, one of our high school students is famous. Does he even know he’s all over the news? He even reached Saudi Arabia.

I wonder if CNN knows about this. After all, he beat Kobe Bryant’s record.

b**ching pt. 1

We have a project in Law class, a simulated (ja-peyk) court hearing. We were grouped and assigned sample cases. We have to come up with the paperwork and evidence.

Guess what? We are the first group, presenting on Monday. I’m pretty frazzled since it’s on MONDAY! We are just grouped 2 days ago!

Thank God everyone was willing to help. But today, one of our groupmates made a huge deal of having no script, blah blah. I don’t want to repeat the whole argument becuase it’s too irritating to think about. But I was annoyed. I even shouted at him, but our prof didn’t notice it, coz of so much noise in the room.

Grrrrr.

b**ching pt. 2

Our grades for Financial Accounting 2 were announced.

It was pretty boring. Most of them were 2.5 or 3.0. But my classmate got a 2.0.

When the prof got to my name (I was one of the last since it was in alphabetical order), …guess what? It’s a 3.0.

No way.

So my classmate got a 2.0, when I know his exam score was just above passing?

So my other classmates who copied their homework from the answer manual of our textbook would get a 2.5??

Is our awful prof that unjust?

So even thought she advised against it, we still approached her and she showed us naman the computation of our grades. I got a tiny peek only at my scores but I knew it was wrong. For one, one of our quizzes was unrecorded. Grrr.

So we were told go compile our test papers for the midterm period and show it to here next meeting. Okaaay.

teentalk is so unfair

I rarely visit the forums now. For one, it’s too big. Even bigger than Mukamo. I only go there because I have a “clique” there and I’m loyal to them.

But now, my thread got deleted FOR NO REASON. Okay, my irritation level increased from a 5 to an 8. I’m on the verge of deleting my account in there. As if it will be any loss to the people there.

I just want the world to know that Teentalk is unfair, messy, inefficient, and most people there are .. mapulitika, I guess. The Web producers need to improve it. Really.

Obsessed once again!

September 5, 2008 at 2:30 pm (The Blog, The Gaming Addict in Me)

I have this new Java game in my CP called Call of the Land. It’s about you/me playing as an Indian-looking dude killing monsters. And I can’t stop playing it, even if the screen size is a little too big. I survive the levels anyway.

This is something that I would put on my Twitter or Plurk, if ever I had one. But I don’t have one coz it seems unnecessary to me. Sheesh.

Anak ng… may traffic na ang site na toh even if I haven’t linked it anywhere else or told anyone about it? I guess my link to the controversial UP Iskolar ng Bayan thing is the cause.

Pampadagdag lang ng posts. :)

The Finals have started…

September 4, 2008 at 2:10 pm (My Interesting Life, The Blog, The College Life) ()

Hey this isn’t about the NCAA! ^^

Anyway I’m so happy the midterms are over. I’ve been taking pleasure in doing nothing much these past days. But I’m excited about our project/lesson in Law. We’re going to make a court drama! Oh gosh I would like to be a lawyer, that would be so cool. But the bad news is, we can’t group ourselves and the prof will assign our teammates. :( I’m gonna have to research now on court procedure. :)

This week is Accreditation Week for the college. As part of the process, there are a series of interviews conducted for the faculty, staff, students, alumni, employers of graduates, and recipients of our outreach programs. Lol. Duguang labanan.

I was one of the students chosen to be interviewed by the panel of accreditors. There were many representatives by course, religion, etc etc. And of course, the Student Council was there. So we made a jolly party of around 40. And at the last minute, the students from the graduate school came. So we were.. a lot.

They asked us questions about the school (naturally). Most of the stuff covered were those we were already briefed about (is my grammar correct?), like outreach programs and developments in learning techniques of the students.

But there were some questions that we didn’t answer too properly, like the way students evaluate professors and retention grades for our course. O.o

Hope it turns out well. I hate going through torture for something we might not get.

~~

PS: I might be leaving BS soon. Someone gave me a sweet offer for my own subdomain so I might be moving to WordPress. But it’s still unsettled for now, kaya I’m posting duplicate entries for this and my new blog there.

(I have an identical entry in mg BS blog)

Inspired by jealousy

August 2, 2008 at 1:40 pm (My Interesting Life, Randomities, The Blog)

Today I discovered the Candy Council of Cool. It’s a group of girls who write for the magazine and blog in the Candy website. Oh my gosh. I would love to be a part of that (I’m such a dreamer.)

It’s stuff like that that made me want to start this blog two months ago. I know I’ll never be famous for blogging or writing, but I know I’ll always be inspired by stuff like that.

It’s also pretty humbling. Working as an editor in our college paper last year, I’ve had this inner pride at being one of the best writers in our school. But when I see people like that, who get paid by national, err… entities to blog and get recognized for their talent, I am reminded that there will always be someone better than me. There will be a lot of people better than me.

Fortunately, I think I’ve passed that point where I’ve beaten myself (not literally, of course) for knowing that there are better people than me. Before, I used to think that I’m horrible at things! But thank God, I’m not like that anymore.

There’s one thing I’ve wanted: A critic. Writing is one of the few things I could hold above other people (:P) and I do want someone who can teach me to do better.

Just a thought.

By the way, why the title? It’s a phrase I’ve always used because being jealous has been a reason why I get inspired to write. Now, I’m jealous of all the lucky, lucky girls who get recognized for their writing. That’s why I wrote this.

That’s it.

~~

By the way, today is my Dad’s birthday. He’s being a major Scrooge, but my mom, sis and I still ate spaghetti, tacos and fried chicken. Now the birthday sounds like a lame reason to binge. :P

Is blogging for me?

June 22, 2008 at 5:52 am (The Blog)

I’m gonna keep this short and sweet. I’m actually doubting if I could blog for a long time. I guess I just got used to NOT writing anymore. :(

Other bloggers.

June 16, 2008 at 7:47 am (The Blog)

I’ve been an obsessed blogger for almost two weeks. Since I’ve started, I’ve been all over the net, looking and commenting at other people’s blogs.

I have given a lot of love to blogs that are REALLY really good, but some of them don’t even bother to respond or even say “thanks.” And one of them is nominated for a Candy Blog Award! (That particular blog is in my bloglist.)

I don’t give love or anything to blogs related to making money because I’m not YET interested.

That’s it for now.

In other news…

We has THREE quizzes today!!

Freakishly gorgeous.

June 11, 2008 at 12:01 pm (The Blog)

Well, I became frustrated with my layout and as you see I’ve changed the template. It’s back to basics. And even though it’s a little too pink for me, I like it! Freakishly gorgeous.
